Savannah Ghost Pirates @ Orlando Solar Bears pre-game notes.

The Orlando Solar Bears will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss during Friday's game against the Savannah Ghost Pirates. This will mark the Pirates' first visit to the Amway Center. The two teams have already faced each other twice this season, with much anticipation remaining. The Ghost Pirates secured a 2-1 win in the first game through penalties, but the Solar Bears triumphed 4-0 a few weeks ago. The Georgia-based team was displeased with their performance, leading to several major fights at the end of the game.

What can you look forward to on Friday night? Ugly sweater jerseys, festive music, plenty of body checks, and a high-energy hockey evening.

Savannah managed to score only four goals in the last three games, while allowing 15. The Swap Rabbits took advantage of their opportunities against the ECHL rookie team in Greenville, even when shorthanded. Twice.

The Orlando Solar Bears suffered four consecutive losses, all away games. The last three defeats were particularly tough. They had one—or two-goal leads, numerous power play opportunities, and managed at least 30 shots each night.

The Ghost Pirates might be new to the league, but thanks to their head coach, Rick Bennett, they are well-structured, aggressive, and not afraid to get their hands dirty. When things get out of control, the Pirates roar, get under their rivals ' skin, and instigate fights—anything to make their rivals lose concentration.

Matt Carkner, the fifth coach in the Solar Bears' history, is experienced in handling such pressure. His team is currently in a rebuilding phase, demonstrating significant character and patience. It is ready to take on its division rivals. They just need to enhance the three P's: possession, power play, and production.
